No Defect in the Springfield XD Barrel Springfields Reply.

I posted this question about the ring I saw at the end of my barrel of my XD9mm and here is what Springfield said below:

Hi Mr. XD9mm,



The Ring you are describing and that is shown in the picture is caused from the barrel going into battery each time a round is chambered. This is perfectly normal and should be of no concern to you. The barrel in that area is a little bit thicker to take up the space between the barrel and the slide which helps in accuracy.
