Bloomburg Presidency
Does the fact that Michael Bloomberg just announced he's leaving the Republican party and becoming an Independant, while sounding very much like a presidential candidate scare anyone else? The thought of the very anti gun mayor of New York as president is very frightening to me. The only good outcome of him as a candidate is that it would probably draw potential votes from Hillary.

Bloomy was never a Repub in any realistic way. He simply used the label for convenience. As for this arrogant, semi-retarded, self-agrandizing bag of monkey crap becoming POTUS, what a purely vomitous idea. :barf:

If Bloomberg enters the presidential race and actually appears on the national ballot, he will take votes away from the Democrat and insure a Republican victory, JMO.

Fact of Life 101....folks don't remember WHY your name is popping up everywhere, they just remember your name. Thus, ignoring fringe babblers like Paul, Kucinich and Bloomykins whilst flitting around on the Boards serves to lower their googleability as their name bandwidth decreases, thereby helping us forget that such politicos exist. I mean, does anyone really care about David Duke anymore? There comes a time when critisizing them gives them more credibility than they deserve, let em sink into tinfoil or moveonish obscurity for Petes sake WildsupposetheygaveacampaignspeechandnobodycameAlaska |

Heck, I've got about as much of a shot at the Oval Office as he does.
C'mon, TFLers! Vote for me! I promise to abolish welfare. I will roll back every gun law back past NFA '34. The Federal Income Tax? Fuggedaboutit! It's a goner! I'll fly to Moscow, tell Putin to shut up or I'll shoot him in the kneecap, and then on to Tehran, where I'll put Ahmadinejad in a headlock and make him cry. I'll form a new Border Patrol from the first 10,000 illegals to tag up 'home free' at the nearest Federal Buildings; the rest get deported. Then I'll put the 10,000 at the border and tell them that if anyone gets past them, they lose their citizenship and their butt goes on a plane to Tierra del Fuego. If a bill comes across my desk that doesn't include a photocopy of the Constitution with the relevant Congressional authority highlighted in yellow, it's vetoed, baby! Who's with me? |

You can marry your dog under my plan (if it's an adult, consenting dog.)
You're outta luck on the tax break, though. We're going back to running the joint on tariffs and import/export duties. I figure stiffing the Gray Panthers on their doctor bills should make up some of the difference. |

Just so no one thinks there's any "hanky panky" going on with that logic San Francisco laws will apply . The dog MUST be at least 12 years old to consent . (people years of course .)

We will not see a third party candidate win the presidency. If Theodore Roosevelt, who was president and widely loved, couldn't win as a thrid party then nobody can. Especially not Bloomy who has burned every bridge with the Rep party long ago.
At least we don't have to call him a RINO anymore.

Are we going to see if a rich man actually -can- buy an election? Hasn't worked for others but then again Mr. Bloomberg is very good at not seeing what he doesn't like.

He is not going to run. Bloomy does not like to spend money on what he can't get. He can't get the presidency as an independent (or any other affiliation). He also doesn't need the GOP to support him for another run for mayor since term limits sees him out in about three years.
By going independent he makes the announcement that the endorsement of NYC's mayor is up for grabs to both Dem and Rep. As a Rep (even a RINO) he was not really a major candidate for courting by the DNC for an endorsement. Now he is open to panderring from both sides.

hot coals
The instant Mike becomes a serious candidate for president the ground he is walking on will turn into a glowing bed of hot coals... He has no conception of the white heat of national media attention... Every girlfriend (or better yet, boy) that he ever had will be interviewed and offered money if they can come upwith something juicy... Every business deal he ever did will be sifted through with a microscope... Every partner, associate, employee, or even the guy who drives his limo, will have reporters going up their rectums like a colonoscope... The guy who mows his lawn and the gal who scrubs the floors in his house will get background checks like they are joining the CIA... He has no conception of what he is walking into...

As if the thought of Hilary wasn't enough to give us all nightmares, now we gotta worry about if this egomaniac will buy himself another public office.

What does the Tamara plan have to say about the military (size, purpose and spending) and foreign relations?
