I've been know to use a permanent marker to overwrite the markings on the case. buy using different colors and marks you can get an infinite number of different identifiers.

Will the marker ink stay on thru a tumbling cycle? It would be handy if it did.

Sharpie marker across the headstamp and primer. Some gets transferred to the slide, but cleans super easy, so no biggie.

The color is gone during tumbling.

My reloads are either red or green depending on powder now. Once that's sorted, we'll see on keeping the markings.

electro etcher is the answer !!

at the base of my rimless cases i etch a number or letter where the brass is thickest, yes !! it is small but if you make the mark you will recognize it.

One other point.... I'm not that anal to get back all of MY brass. I don't care who's it is, cause it all loads the same. So long as I come home with close to the amount I shot, I'm happy.

Unless it's rifle cases, It doesn't much matter, IMO.
