FN/FAL owners: How difficult is it to change the rear Buttstock?

Does the whole lower/back piece of the reciever come off with the stock, or is the actual stock bolted or riveted to that? Any help will be appreciated. I just purchased one and don't even have the gun in yet.

FAL stock

There is a tool you can get from places like DSA, or Brownells. There is a screw you remove in the back of the stock. Under that screw are two springs inside each other. The springs work like the one in the stock of a AR15.They are under tention. The tool has a rod to hold the springs and unscrews the the screw at the same time.

It is bolted on. It has a spring behind the nut so this tool will compress it. http://www.dsarms.com/item-detail.cf...=bstcktool.gif

stock removel

FS2K when you go to dsarm.com check out ther schematic.Part #094 returnspring tube nut/stock screw. If you get the tool there is a brass piece on screwed on the end you can use to clean the gas tube like cleaning rod.
