256 Win Mag

Years ago when I bought the TC with the 256 bbl I never thought they would quit making the rounds. When they did I just decided to bite the bullet (no pun intended) and make cases from 357 Mag and load my own.

Well, I am doing just that - Redding No 1 and No 2 sizers and FL dies from Herters ('member them? Went belly up some decades back...). There is a cautionary note on case neck thickness - if it is too thick it will jam in the chamber and not release the bullet and build dangerously high pressures.

So what I am doing is after FL resizing, I ream the neck with a 25 cal reamer that fits my RCBS trimmer. What is the neck thickness supposed to be? I can't find that info anywhere. Anyone else done this?
