I know it's an L-frame pistol, will it take the K-frame grips? I'd like to replace the finger groove factory grips with a smooth nylon set like they showed in Shooting Times last month. It should fit a holster for the 2 1/2 inch 686, right? Anyone got any advice on 44 spl. ammo? Something tells me that hot ammo would be a little tough on the mitts in this 19 ounce pistol. Any help would be appreciated.

The grips will work. Most companies list their grips for K & L frames together. At 19oz you won't find a comfortable load but oversize grips do help. I carried a Charter Arms Bulldog for a while with Pachmayr Compacts on it. Made all the difference in the world. George
