I use a small East German military surplus bag I got from CTD. I made a bulk purchase of them with some family and friends. I bought 10 of them for my family of four so we could use them as 72 hour kit bags and then a couple extras. They are real durable and CHEAP.
They are not too big though. I really only use them for mags, ammo, eyes and ears, stapler, targets, tape & Gerber multitool. The guns have a different case for each long gun and a double decker case for the pistols. |

I use one of several bags depending on what I'm doing. The one constant is my Klein Tools bag that carries a rest, sandbags, target pasters, staplers and earmuffs. That bag always gets loaded in the truck. I picked it up at a garage sale for $5.00 and it's built like a tank.
I have several of the Harbor Freight 11" tool bags. These things are great for carrying ammo, and sometimes if I'm going to shoot two or more calibers, I'll use a different bag for each caliber. A couple of boxes of ammo, a handgun, and whatever mags I might be using goes into each bag, separated by caliber. At about $7.00 each, these things are fairly durable, made of canvas, and very affordable. They're normally available at my local Harbor Freight, which means that I don't have to wait for shipping. |

Another user of various small canvas tool bags, with different bags for different guns or calibers. Works well from my point of view.
Yard sale purchases, a few Craftsman bags, some from the Auto Parts store.

No bag. For modern guns a tackle box.
For traditional muzzle loading a large handmade box of cedar. If it gets any heavier I'm going to add wheels and a V-8 engine. |

I have one of the Midway large competition bags referenced earlier.
It can definitely be loaded down to the point where it's a PITA .... err back ... to carry.

I bought three of these "cheap" bags from CTD two years ago- and none of them have had a failure of any kind. I recommend them highly.

Its on the pricy side. But have been using 2 of the large ones for near 18 years. Wore a hole in one bag and it was replaced free of charge.
