Remington 6 1/2 Small Rifle Primers?

These are the only small rifle primers I can get right now. Any issues with them?

I plan to use them with H335 in .223.

Another thread here on Remington Small Pistol primers says they're not good for hard-to-light powders like H110. H335 is in that same category. Hogdon recommends a magnum primer for H335.

So will I have troubles with the Remingtons? Are they like a non-magnum primer?

Remington says, Do NOT Use 6 1/2 Primers in the 223. The cups are to soft!

In rifle cartridges, the 6-1/2 small rifle primer should not be used in the 17 Remington, 222 Remington or the 223 Remington. The 7-1/2 BR is the proper small rifle primer for these rounds.

Good to know

I did not realize that. Lucky for me I managed to snag 500 Remington 7-1/2 from Bass Pro while on vacation (The first Bass Pro in Canada, I believe... what a cool place!). They had a whole case, but I left 500 for the next guy (but I really REALLY wanted to grab the whole case! )

Thanks for the info, Steve!

Cheers!

Yep, thanks Steve. I'll find some other use for them. Good thing I bought 100 to try.

The Rem 7 1/2 has always given me great results with H335.
