How is the Desert Tech MDR different to...

... a Tavor?

Or isn't it?

Well its supposed to be introduced in .308, has some fancy ejection chute that spits the casings out in a nonviolent manner conducive to shooting from either shoulder with no modifications, was supposed to be pretty light, but its gained some weight, apparently its going to have the best bullpup trigger ever, also supposed to be the most accurate semi auto bullpup ever, and is(?) going to be one of the most expensive semi auto bullpups if it becomes available.

Was also supposed to be released in the next two weeks for the last year and a half, or something like that. Not a very professional company.

Well, they seem to make good guns so in that respect they are good at their profession.
However, if they lose business through bad supply management and CS, then yeah, they need to up their game.

I like their stuff though as eye candy.

The Desert Tech MDR looks more like a Kel Tec RFB than a Tavor to me.

A Tavor is almost a pound lighter for one. Otherwise it's just another big kid's toy.
Don't know where the MDR people get the idea that 8.7 pounds is light weight. That's no different than an M-16.

One is still vaporware and the other isn't.

It's not vaporaware - held one at my dealer two weeks ago. Seems like a nice gun and dealer says they shoot great.

They'd better for a rifle in the $2500 range, or whatever the price is at now. I'd like to see this rifle succeed, hopefully it does in spite of the company selling it.
