Pawn shops can be haggled. They have 100% markup. Offer them $150. It'll go home with you, IMO.

I just bought a new 870 super mag. express and it doesn't have the little j on the safety. what year did they come out with the j anyone know? I'd like to find out just what year model I bought. my manual shows the j and I wondered why mine didn't have it. Thanks!

They stopped putting the J lock in a year or two back. I bought a new one last year and it was post lock.
The safety isn't hard to swap out for a non-locking version if you want to. Parts only cost 3.25 from Midway.

I guess mine must be one of the newer ones then since it does not have the j lock. Thanks very much!

While we're talking 870's, I picked up my KY State Police trade in 870 today from my LGS. Bought it from Bud's a few days ago. While I was in the LGS, they had a nice older 870 Wingmaster with a 229.00 price tag on it. Looked to be a fixed Mod plain barrel. Did not ask to examine it closely so I can't give defnitives on it's condition, but if there's anyone local to the Burlington area of NC interested I'll PM you the shop's name. I'm good on 870's for a bit..........but if it's still there next week..........

Wingmasters are worth a lot more than the Express. They cost roughly three times what an Express cost new, and are worth it.
