I dont beleve you mentioned trigger.
Have you ever replaced the handgrip mounting screw w/ the 'screw thu the screw' that shlrtens the trigger pull? I did one on a gun and they ae amazing. Sorry I dont recall the maker but someone will chime in, or flame in... |

Grant,
Yhe UTG sights don't bother me when reaching for the charging handle (yes they are stanadard), but these are both used at a leisurely pace.

I was a little concerned about accessibility in positions such as prone. I'll find out this weekend if it's an issue[for me] or not.

I wanted to double check my sights after thread locking them last night. I used the opportunity to compare some ammo(again). This also showed me which ammo to use Saturday. 40gn Aguila Super Extra copper plated round nose won out with the group on the far right. Worst group was cci quiet on the far left. Not surprisingly, with the cci quiet, I started having malfunctions, but I continued to have failures afterward with other varieties of ammo. At somewhere between 300-500 rounds, I think the gun was ready for a clean and lube, which I did tonight.

The trigger in my lower is part of a Palmetto State armory build kit. It is a standard Mil-Spec trigger. It feels different under the 22 bolt than it does under the 5.56 bolt. If I build a lower for this upper I would consider an improved trigger and perhaps a fixed stock.

This thing just keeps chugging along. Hard to make it choke. Hollow points and all. Used it today to make dust out of sticks of sidewalk chalk. It performed 100% through my Appleseed weekend and equally reliable today while out with friends.
