One of the Ruger execs said that once they got things set up, they were going to make Marlins the way they should be made.

We have high hopes but until something gets to the market and we see/use it, is all just hopes.

Personally I've always preferred the 336 to the model 94. The Marlin is a bit heavier and the butt dimensions fit me better.

And since I've had a ,30-30 336 for 40+ years and its still going strong, I'm unlikely to be in the market for a new one...
All else being equal (and it almost never is) bigger bullets tend to work better.
