Tikka T3 love it!
So I hadn't shot my rifle in a while. Took it out to the range this morning, chose the 200 yard area (hadn't shot beyond 100 yards for a few years), taped up a lot of targets in fear of cluttering them quickly.
Well first three shots and I'm as happy as a gopher in soft dirt   I would like to look into a tall sand bag, today i used my pistol/range bag. Im tall (6'4") so feel like I hunch over on most benches. Any suggestions would be great. Not to let the other targets go to waste I ran through 60 rounds of .223 using a trijicon reflex (1x power)

This ticks me off...I dragged my feet on one at the local gun shop...I wished I had picked it up...308 stainless/syn just like yours....Someone else is enjoying it....

I have one just about like it.
Mine is a .243 and any coyote within 300 yds is in serious trouble. Off the bags or off the bipod it flat shoots small groups. The stock sure makes a funny twang when shooting off the bench though. Have you noticed that?

what rings and base do you use? i have the left handed version in 308 and the scope came loose on my last range trip in the supplied rings that came with the rifle, does anyone have any experience with this combo

I used Burris
I mounted a 50mm scope so I used 2 piece Burris mounts with Burris Signature rings that I bought from Midway. The rings are standard universal style. Twist in front and windage adjustable rear. The mounts used the holes already drilled into the receiver. They fit and have been rock solid since installed 6/7 years ago. This is my main hunting rifle and has seen a lot of use in the field.
I put the matte black rings and bases on the stainless gun to match the stock and it looks good . If the gun had a wood stock the silver may look better. That is my experience. Enjoy the Tikka! |

Keg- I lucked out with this one, was looking at a rem 700, couldn't find one in .308 in San Antonio so I drove up to Buda to go to cabelas, well they didn't have one either so I stumbled upon the Tikka, this was before the days of an iPhone so I couldn't do any quick research on it. Just said what the heck and got it. $600 from a big box store ain't bad.
CBuck- I just used the rings that came with the rife, I use a BSA 8-24x 40mm, nothing high dollar, it was around $150 J A- haven't noticed any odd noises. Last edited by RamItOne; August 8, 2012 at 11:05 AM. |

I've had one in .223 for a few years now. I have nothing but good to say about that rifle. They are nice guns and priced affordably.

I have the T3 Lite in .308 also, but not stainless. One of the smoothest bolts I have shot. Accuracy is sub MOA all day! Love it
