M&P question

Any M&P experts here who are familiar with Apex stuff? If you feel like a puzzle, here's one for you. I just sent this question to Apex but since lately I've been ignored by a couple companies I've tried to contact for unrelated things, here it is in case anyone wants to have a go.

I purchased a M&P9c gen 1.0 slide assembly (older, I can tell by rear sight and black oxide striker) to go on my M&P40c gen 1.0 frame. The M&P40c had been upgraded with a forward set sear, apex polymer trigger, Ultimate Striker Blocker, and I remember replacing the locking block / sear assembly at one point (was it to accommodate the forward set sear?). I don't recall if I needed to replace the trigger bar since it was years ago. As far as the M&P40c in this upgraded configuration goes, it worked fine.

On this "new to me" old M&P9c slide, I bought and installed another Ultimate Striker Block because I had read it would be needed since I had one in the original M&P40c. I had to tweak the "shepherd's hook" a bit just to get the sear to release the striker. But on dry firing, it's still not clearing the striker block plunger. I've tested it with black marker drawn on the backs of snap caps. No primer strikes. The striker block plunger moves up and down freely, and when manually depressed the striker can get past the blocker when field stripped. Strangely, the newest USB that I installed in the M&P9c appears shorter after installation than the one in my M&P40c frame. It doesn't stick out as far down from the slide. The packaging looks legitimate, SKU: 100-075. What's going on?

Is the USB too short / defective? Or is it a rolling change that changed the placement of the striker blocker? Something else? Your thoughts are much appreciated.

hard to tell from just a description your best bet would be to take it to a qualified gunsmith for inspection. but sounds to me like it might be a issue with your trigger bar not disengaging your striker block properly.

I think so too, and in my min the reason can come from at least two sources: 1, it could be from an updated trigger bar that I may have installed as a requirement of the forward set see her and Apex trigger. It was so long ago but the term “H trigger bar” seems to come to mind. Maybe the overall height of the ramp that disengages Striker blocker is not as tall or the slope is different.. The other option is since the striker blocker does not appear to protrude down from the slide As much as my original slide, there could have been a rolling change that changed the depth of the striker block.. I haven’t heard back from Apex but it hasn’t been that long yet

Ok, just an update if it might help others. I have found out that the Ultimate Striker Block from Apex is different when included in the Forward set sear and trigger package. If one doesn’t buy the package, the USB that is stand-alone is shorter.
