Come try out Civil War black powder competition shooting!
If you like shooting firearms from the era of the American Civil War, and you like competition shooting, then the N-SSA is for you! We shoot revolvers, smoothbores, rifles, carbines, and even artillery.
Note that you don't have to have all of these firearms to start competing - the only required arm is a musket. Here is a video that covers the high points: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mp1qho8DLuw Here is a map of all the currently active competition locations: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?m...U.kSOtqeWZ3gDU Steve |

I was very interested but was originally in CA. Now I'm in CO and there's still no N-SSA out here.

If it weren't for having to wear those scratchy, woolen uniforms on a hot, humid summer day..........

Thanks maillemaker - the map confirms that there's nothing in Colorado or especially New Mexico. New Mexico had several battles (Valverde, Glorietta and one minor one during Sibley's retreat). Arizona had several skirmishers and there was one even west (not the famous one that is east) of Phoenix.
