Browning Superposed

I need advice.I recently acquired a 1960 vintage superposed lightning in good to very good condition.I wanted it as a good field gun and love the way it swings and handles.I don't want to reblue ,but it has some bad blueing loss due to corrosion on left side of barrel, but no metal pitting. Also,My main concern,The vent rib is starting to come up at the rear of the barrels. How are they repaired and should I continue to shoot it until I find someone reliable to fix them.I have a Beretta auto and a 870 in lockup. Thanks, any opinion welcome.

Jess Briley, located here in Houston, is one of the top shotgun specialists in the country. You could take your Superposed by and let them look at it. Suspect they can give you better advice after seeing the gun than we can.

If the rib is coming loose, I would give it a rest until you get it fixed. If they have to resolder/braze the rib, they'll need to reblue, so have them do it at that time. Briley is a good place to start since you live there

Done right

Looks to be a $650 dollar proposition, but you'll like the results!
