BATFE Issues Third Letter "Clarifying" Arm Braces for Pistols
https://blog.princelaw.com/2017/04/2...ipped-pistols/
Occasional or incidental putting your pistol arm brace or buffer tube up to your shoulder to shoot no longer constitutes "redesigning" a pistol into a prohibited SBR (as interpreted by ATF) However, actual modification of the arm brace to make it more effective as a stock (one of the examples they give is removing the arm strap from the device) may still be considered "making an SBR" on a case by case basis. I interpret that as bureaucratese for "I'll get you my pretties! You and your little dog, too! But we're going to wait for a really good set of facts favoring us before we try to prosecute that." |
