It is much more difficult to shoot a course of fire when you don't know where the targets are but your course seems to be a vigorous activity. You really need to use cover more and recognize that your target can see you before you can see them. You enter the building sloppy because you know there are no active targets in it. In real life there might be armed targets and you would get shot. Another minor point is that you should drop the mag and install a fresh mag before you change your position. Don't wait to hit an empty chamber - it is better to throw a few rounds away that it is to confront a shooter with an empty mag.

Nice countryside and a great workout.

Agreed!

I don't load the mags so I don't know how many rounds I have left.

Your course beats standing at a table punching paper for sure. Use more cover and use it right. When you take cover behind that rock you're crowding it too close and you're on the wrong side exposing too much of your body unless you switch hands with the rifle. When you move, MOVE; and as others have said, don't run your mags dry before reloading if you can possibly help it. After shooting scan the area for other threats. Get low and steady for longer shots.

What is the purpose of this exercise?

Yeah i just think that's what the rifles are for ... Too many people own them and just have a few shots at the range and back in the safe.

Iv only had the course set up for a couple weeks so it's early days.

Dr Watson,
I would suggest that you find a three gun activity at a nearby range. The target setups change for each meet and you get to practice with the carbine, a pistol and a shotgun against the clock. The courses are not as rigorous as yours but they can be very challenging.

Yeah - they just don't shoot enough haha.

I have an approved pistol range on my property (they are quite restrictive here)

In the summer I shoot most evenings and up until now has been mostly long range- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Np9GCFbLZ_Q

But I just do too much office work now days so needed a shooting activity that involved a little more exercise...

I'm taking on board these comments tho - very valid points
