What is the best fixed scope magnification?
I just ordered a NC STAR Mark III Tactical Scope 4X32 P4 Sniper. It's a fixed 4X and I'm hoping to use it as an all around all purpose scope for varmints around the farm. What do you think is the best fixed magnification for all around shooting?

In my opinion, which ain't worth much, I think a 4x is great for deer hunting in the woods. If your varmints are longer range, I'd prefer a higher power.

I like a 7X especially the Weaver brand.

I have a larger magnification on my 22 Mag and it seems that most of my shots are so close they are blurry. I live up here in the wooded mountains so I don't get to have many real long shots like down on the prarie. I'd say 100 yards max. I guess it depends on what kind of terrain you have.
