yet another question about my jp sauer & son western marshal 357 magnum s/a revolver

I have found all but one part. I need a base pin for it and I was wondering if that base pin is the same size as another brand ( i.e. ruger ect.) and if they are interchangeable.

If you have no other cylinder pin for a trial fit, have you measured the hole diameter & depth ?

A drill bit shank might get you close enough - or carry the cylinder to gunshows and ask the parts guys for a match.

A base pin is usually an easy part to make if you can't find one.
