King Nitro 12 ga SxS

I just bought a "King Nitro" at the Jockey Lot, and I haven't been able to find out anything about it except that it's suspected to have been marketed by Shapleich's Hardware and may have been made by any number of manufacturers, including Iver Johnson, W.H. Davenport Firearms, Crescent Firearms Company, J. Stevens Arms Company, and Savage Arms Company.

The thing has no markings (other than some numbers which may or may not be a serial number) except "King Nitro" on each sidelock, which have exposed hammers. I don't think the barrels are damascus, because I can't see any of the telltale signs of being hammer forged, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to fire high-powered shells in it.

If anyone has any knowledge of these guns, I'd appreciate it if you would reply.

Thanks, Bill
