A1 available with 3 round burst or...

Was the A1 version of M16 available with 3 round bursts? Does the selector switch have 4 positions for safe, fire, bursts, and full?

They'd sell you anything you want, but by nature, the A1 is a 3-position gun.

All the A1's I used were standard safe, semi, full. The three round burst mechanism made it's debut on the A2 model, though I believe it can be retrofitted without a great deal of trouble. Any old armorers out there?

I think a very few left the factory with a four position selector but the safe, semi, full was the norm. Any trigger mechanism set ou for the right size pins will work in the gun and there are several to choose from. I like the Tac Trigger, has the AUG style fire control, light pull is semi heavier is full. I like the idea anyway, I have yet to shoot one.
