Thanks everyone for the abundance of info. I don’t reload for rifles cartridges. What really got me interested in quick load was the lack of information on 327 Fed. Magnum.
I will probably pick it up just to get a better understanding of how the components interact.

If you're not loading across a broad range of different cartridges/bullets/powders
(especially those outside the baseline published info/components, QuickLoad is
likely not a high return investment.

(if you are, however, it's priceless)

quoted for truth

the more I reload the more I tend to simplify and simply concentrate on consistency, I find something that works and stick with it. If I were experimenting with different powders and obscure or wildcatted cases I would have Quickload on my computer in the time it took to download it. But considering the reason I reload it would be a total waste of money.

Now for a offtopic comment. Everyone here reloads for their own reasons. Some enjoy pistols, some like to burn up 5.56, some are into older military rifles, a few are into precision shooting. We all don't have the same objectives and needs

I use mine for pistol also.
My 1911 is a 4" barrel, not the 5" that is normally tested.
I aim for 900 fps with my carry ammo, and 800 fps with my plinking ammo.

Also use it for 9mm. 3.2" barrel vs 4" test barrel.

I'm thinking about it, as published data for heavy .41Mag (240gr & up) is rather scarce, as is data for .357Maximum. I'm hoping to have a .41Special in a year or 2, as well & thinking Quickload will come in pretty handy in my case.

T.O. has not only posted "malarky" quite regularly, he has posted "malarky" that could get a person that is brand new to handloading, hurt.

F. Guffy is entertaining, if somewhat incomprehensible (you just have to learn how to translate what he posts, once you figure out what he's saying he makes some sense), but T.O Hair is borderline dangerous. Good thing Uncle Nick and some other highly experienced handloaders are here.

If you want to see a real Quick (no pun intended) example where QuickLoad
can be worth its weight in sanity check against "well-known lore", look here:
