salvadore,

I was warned about problems w/ TGPs about a month ago when I needed a taller front blade sight for my M48a. Used this guy instead:

I dont know if Tenesee Gun Parts is closed, but I do know that you can order a tall front sight for a Mauser from Brownells.
I just put one on my 24 47, and it made all the difference.

I've used the Brownells site on my Steyr M.95...it fit much better than I expected, especially since it wasn't actually intended for that application. It's a good strong steel, it took some effort to file it to shape.
It admittedly doesn't look like anything but a non-original sight, but at least I'm hitting paper instead of backstop at 100 yards now!
