500 magnum and blue dot.
Is anyone loading this powder in the 500 mag? My dies should be in tomorrow, it'd be nice to have some loads handy for blue dot, since I have an unopened can in the drawer. Thanks -

Blue dot would most likely be adequate for upper midrange loads, but I'd never try to use it for full power loads--it's way too squirrely.
Your best bet however would be to call or email Alliant. They have been wonderful for me in the past for answering my powder questions, and you get your answers from an actual ballistician. Good luck, Mike |

Will do, Mike. The components arrived today. I read somewhere, here or another fourm, that a guy was loading 20 gr of blue dot for his 500 mag. That sounds like lunacy without published load data to back it up. That is why I was asking around. Best -
