Need 7mm-08 Load

Just got a 7mm-08, Savage model 11, 22" barrel, 1 in 11.5".

Need to put some loads together tonight/tomorrow.

I bought some Hornady Interlock 139 gr. BTSP bullets. I plan to use RL-15 powder. Is 37 grains to 40 grains about right? I'm doing a little interpolating here and would like a litte confirmation. Figured I'd start at 37 grains.

For other bullets I could use, I also have;
100 gr. Hornady HP
120 gr. Hornady SP
120 gr. Barnes XBT
120 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip
150 gr. CT Ballistic Tip

as well as powder; RL-19 plus IMR 4064, RL-22, RL-7, etc.

Any other thoughts?

Love Hornady

My 260 likes IMR 4831 and RL-19. My 280 likes RL-19. They both like 1 or 2 grains below book maximum (Nosler 5). The 7-08 would probably like RL15 or 19.

Posted this on the rifle forum as well.

Gonna load some 120 grain Noslers B.T. and Hornady's (see above). Measured the C.O.A.L. with each of the bullets in the cahmber to the rifling.

Any recommendations on how far off I should seat the bullets?

My 7-08 like several powders, all with 140 grain bullets, although Sierra 120's are REAL close accuracy-wise

You will have to determine that by shooting. In my experience all rifles are different. Most recomendations are .025 to .030 off the lands for hunting loads. Magazine length will also dictate how far you can go.
