Recall Notices and Product Alerts; Please Post Here.

Just curious if anyone has any of the 4007 powder lots being recalled. I had an 8 pound keg, and contacted Hodgdon this morning. Replacement was quick and easy.

Hey all,

I received this a few days ago and thought it might be of interest:

Quote:
Dear Customer,
You are receiving this notice because you recently ordered Ramshot Hunter Rifle Powder (MidwayUSA product numbers 911307 and 920960).

Western Powders is issuing a recall of Ramshot Hunter powder with lot number 489, bottled on 08/05/16. The lot number may appear as a white label with 489 above the numbers 080516 or as a stamp with 080516489. The lot numbers may be found on the back of the bottle. This is a limited recall and only effects lot 489 of Ramshot Hunter.

Use of this powder may result in high pressure loads and subsequent gun damage or serious personal injury. If you are in possession of this propellant, please discontinue its use immediately and contact Western Powders at 406-234-0422. They will replace your powder from another lot of Hunter.

We apologize for the inconvenience,
MidwayUSA Customer Service

No problem, thankfully my bottles are on either side of the recalled lot so I'm good to go.

Lite Bullet

Was weighing Sierra TMK's on a Frankford Arsenal digital scale. All were close, 95.1 gr., 95.0 gr., 94.9 gr.,......then 28.5 gr!!!

Was the only one out of one hundred bullets,...but shocking!!

Anyone EVER run across this??

Arbrn Rngr,

Sounds like missing core. No. That's not normal. I don't think I've ever run into a light Sierra bullet. I would call them and let them know the lot number.

Gempro 250 Dropped by MyWeigh Due to Problems. Refund Issued.

I read on another forum that Myweigh had recently dropped the Gempro 250 due to problems and were issuing refunds because they didn't have a replacement for it. I recalled experiencing some drift problems with my 250 that I purchased in 12/2017. Long story short, sent an email advising the drift problem. They quickly responded and stated they would issue a refund if I sent a copy of my receipt. I sent a copy fo the receipt the following day and got a quick response they were mailing a refund check.

Great Customer Service by Myweight. Letting others know in case they've experience problems with their 250.

Accurate powders recall 11-18-19

On MidsouthshootersSupply.com
ACCURATE POWDERS RECALL 11-18-19
Attention:
Accurate Powders has issued a recall of 4064, 2495, & 4350 Powders with certain lot numbers. Our current inventory does not contain these lot numbers. Please check your powder supply to make sure you did not receive any powder with these lot numbers! Click here for more information
Go to AccuratePowder.com for details.

Update:
ANYONE with any of these powders needs to see the table. For those three powders the Lot recalled range is #2 through 16 to 22. That is 36 different Lots.
http://blog.westernpowders.com/2019/...recall-notice/
Same link as in next post.

The lot number is digits 7 and 8 (if present).

I have a bottle of 2495 purchased in 2009 with lot #
0605149
9 is the 7th digit and there is no 8th digit. So this bottle is included in the recall. I bought it new from Powder Valley, and broke the seal last night and it smelled perfectly normal.

Crap--just checked and ALL of my 1 lb'rs are in the recall. Fortunately these are all generally close to their IMR counterparts which I generally default to. Thank God 2520, 1680, No7 and No9 aren't involved--those are indispensable to me.

Same here.
All of my Accurate 4350 is in the recall, and two heretofore still sealed canisters do appear to be going bad.
An inspection of other powders will be happening in the near future, since the off-gassing can cause other powders to decay at an accelerated rate. (It's like the plague!)

A word of advice for those affected:
CALL Western Powders, to get started. Don't email.
They'll respond much sooner, even if you have to leave a voicemail.

They are issuing checks for the current MSRP of the powders included in the recall, once you submit photographic evidence of the lot numbers and quantity via email. (Follow their instructions.)

Accurate powder recall

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems Canada Valleyfield, Inc (GD-OTS), has determined a potential defect relating to certain lots of Accurate 2495, 4064 and 4350 propellants manufactured for Western Powders, Inc. prior to October 1, 2016 and packaged under the Accurate brand name in 1 lb. and 8 lb. canisters, may be defective.

The use or storage of this product may result in combustion, fire damage and/or possible serious injury or property damage. Some signs of degradation include, but are not limited to, container lid deformation, discoloration of the containers in the lid area, presence of red fumes when the container lid is opened, or the presence of a strong acidic odor.

GD-OTS and Western Powders, Inc. are recalling the following powders packaged under the Accurate brand in 1 lb. and 8 lb. containers:

Accurate 4064 Lots 2 - 16
Accurate 2495 Lots 2 - 17
Accurate 4350 Lots 2 - 22

What you should do:
1) Immediately fill the container with water, which will render the product inert and safe for disposal.

2) Notify Western Powders, Inc. and 406-234-0422, or [email protected]. We will provide you with instructions to photograph the bottle showing the lot number and provide refund information.

be safe

Rggyh,

Thank you for posting. Please note the sticky at the top of the forum thread list. All recall and defect notices should go there. I think this is repeating the warning in post #14 in the sticky, but you have more lot number info. I will move this for you.

I don't understand the coding. Regardless of the rest of the 7 or 8 numbers.....any powder with the last digits on the recall is bad? How do you know what year it was bought before or after? Are they saying those numbers will never ne used ahain?

Yes. You don't need to know the year, just the one or two-digit lot number that follows the 6 digits of the product number. They won't have included the lot numbers in the notice if they weren't made inside the suspect time frame. I'm just surprised they go back as far as 2 for all those powders.

Understand that lots can be multiple train car quantities the distributer uses as stock, sometimes lasting for years, so if a simple serial lot numbering is used, it's not surprising that some lots last for years and that over a period of decades the lot numbers are still only one or two digits.
