HI Point Carbine
Just curious about anyones experiences witht he Hi Point 9mm carbine. i saw it in Cabelas .... doesn't look like much, but the reviews say it is great - accurate, reliable, and for the money, definetly worth buying .... is it?

I have one, and I like it. Pretty accurate at 75 yds or less, and I've never had any problems with it. It is a pain to properly clean though. Solution? Run a few patches down the bore and call it good.

It is what it is. Cheap, not much to look at, but pretty much fun. Hey, I think I've said that before about..... never mind.

definitely
Gun Test always gave Hi-Point arms high marks: good value for money spent.
2nd that. Love HP 9MM carbine, even after having shot bunch of other 9/40/45ACP carbines/SMG/etc. Super handy, accurate, reliable, easy to use with good sight and ergonomic. Only downside is mag: limited to 10 round capacity. +1 |

Love mine
I have one and LOVE IT!!! My wife really likes shooting it too.
I've had mine for several years and have shot 1000's of rounds through it. I have never had a single jam in it, rarely clean it, shoot factory rounds and reloads through it and it just shoots awesome. Reliable, accurate, cheap... great, great gun. Last year I got the ATI stock for it and really like that look much better. With the new stock it is a real head-turner at the range. People come over to check it out often and are always impressed by the way it shoots Only 2 downsides: 1) Factory mag's are only 10 rounds and the aftermarket 15 round mags often don't work so well. Buy few extra 10 round mags for it... you'll be glad you did. 2) A pain to clean properly... that's why I don't do it very often. Usually just swab the barrel, oil the bolt a bit and put it away till next time. |
