Rem. 870 Slug Guns:

I got a model 870 Wingmaster with a Hastings fully rifled barrel, I have some Hornady 300 gr. SST sabot slugs and wanted to get some other slugs before going out to the range to zero it in, etc. I am told that each barrel shoots different slugs better than others? Any experience on this particular set up as to what slug rounds will shoot the best, group. etc. Thanks.

Federal Premium Sabots have worked the best for me. 2-3/4", 1oz. Hydra-shok slug. muz vel 1450fps. The deer love em.

I have 2 Remingtons setup the same way but with scopes on them and the SST's and Buck Hammers are the best I have found for them so far. The Hastings barrels are built arounnd the BRI Sabots but mine wont shoot them worth a crap. Im taking the SST's out to 200yds without a problem. Sight the SST's in at 2 1/2" high @ 100yds and your good to go out to 200yds.
