Are CZ firearms Rare Where You are?
Went to the gunshow in Orlando (big show) looking for a CZ 75 Compact on Saturday. Usually, there are two or three dealers stocking CZ handguns at this show. However, I didn't see an single CZ at the show, anywhere. Not even a used CZ 75. I've heard that CZ doesn't import that many guns, but to not even see one?
Anyone got any inside info? FWIW, there was a big crowd, but I didn't see much buying going on. Overall, the selection of guns was the thinnest I've ever seen.Seems that the rush for guns is over, but the prices haven't come down enough yet... |

Based on my experience they are only popular on the internet. I see the same. I know of 1 gunstore between Chattanooga and Atlanta that will often have 2-3. That actually includes both Atlanta and Chattanooga. Other than that I will see one on rare occasions at a gunshow. Having owned a couple, I understand why.

Same goes for me, the only one I can remember seeing in a shop was used. Had it been a 9mm or 45, I'd have bought it. Too bad it was a 40.

I just got into a guns a few months ago and went to the local gun shop to look at what was available. The only thing I had fired at the time was a XD9 and liked it. The shop actually had one and I ended up buying it after shopping around and finding none anywhere else - I admit I was really itching to own something and had money budgeted for one. Anyway, I had never heard of CZ but the guy behind me saw me shopping and really recommended them. The dealer pulls out a 75B and lets me handle it. I liked the feel but had no idea what I was doing and was skeptical since I'd never heard the name. After that experience I did some research and it sounded like I should have paid more attention. I checked back a couple weeks later and it was of course gone and none have come to replace it. I always checkout the displays wherever I go and haven't noticed one since...

I always see new ones at every gun show I frequent. Because of the recent buying frenzy cZs, like many other pistols, are in short supply.

I'm a CZ fan, there pistols are some of the best IMO however I doubt that most dealers can make as much profit on the brand therefore don't stock as many, just an opinion.

I don't have any friends, aquaintances, or family members who have and/or carry a CZ handgun.

There are a few shops in my area that carry CZ......when they can get them. That's the trouble, they can't get them. I almost bought a CZ 75 P-01 at the end of January but just couldn't pull the trigger so to speak. I already have a CZ 75B and a RAMI, both in 9mm.

Uncommon, but not rare.
I was tempted by a P01 at a local gunshow today. Also saw a few CZ75s.

There is one store in my area that frequently stock CZ 22 rifles but I don't recall handguns at all. I would eventually like to get their little 22 semi-auto eventually.

I have a gun shop in Clarksville, IN that has 3 CZ's in stock- a 70, a 50, and a 52.
He does all used/consignment guns, so he keeps a fun mix. I bought my CZ-75BD from him, and not long after he had a CZ-75 Pre-B in the case. |

Historically, Cabelas in St. Louis has always had several CZ's in the case, but I havent been in there for several months, so I dont know what they have as of late.
Aside from them, I dont recall seeing any in the smaller shops anywhere. |

I recently saw a CZ at an Academy sports here. It was also the only one I think I've ever seen in person. So, umm, yeah. They're rare here.

Local LGS had 1 SS CZ 75B and 3 plain black one's NIB. I bought one right away and rest were gone in 2 days. Hot seller.

I was at the same gunshow - didn't see any CZ's either. But, I wasn't really looking for one. I do see CZ's at gun shows every now and then, however, and I've seen some around in local gun shops. The thing is that I don't think any of the LGS's are CZ dealers.
At the gun show the OP was referring to, there was a glut of AR's and .22LR faux military-style rifles, cheap AK's, Taurus', Hi-Points, and the same old revolvers the same old dealers never sell. No interesting handguns at all. |

The local stores around here rarely carry CZ handguns, but every once in a while a 75b will show up at a gunshow. There was a dealer at the Houston Gunshow I frequented while in college there that often had several 75s on display. I just wish I could find a 97 anywhere in person to see if the ergonomics match up with me as well as the 75 compact did when I checked it out.
