I just watched The Accountant 2 the other night. In the finale, the hero’s are charging into the cartel camp in a Ford pick up. Jon Bernthal is sitting in the passenger side, firing some kind of AR/M4 carbine straight ahead, through the windshield, supporting the gun on the dash board. I told my wife, that’s exactly how to do that. You don’t hang out the car window, too unstable, you’ll drop the gun or get wham O’ed between the roof and door when you hit a big bump. You aren’t planning to drive that vehicle home after a battle against overwhelming odds. Front of the vehicle provides the most cover (lots of stuff in front of you, unlike a car door.

![]() Why would it be any different "into or out of a vehicle" than when walking around? Now, if you're asking for folks to express favorites or pride-of-ownership choices, just because they may really like their guns? That's different. If I'm carrying one of my J's or LCP's, then that's going to be the 'default favorite' if some unavoidable imminent threat of serious bodily injury or death comes calling.

When I shoot soda cans with .38 or 9mm they bounce about 1 or 2 feet. When I shoot soda cans with .357 or .40 they bounce several feet into the air. I don't know if that's significant or not but it gives me confidence if it's time to get kinetic. Any time and any way you can avoid a gunfight you absolutely should. I know of a car salesman that grabbed the gun arm of a thief and hit the gas. He smeared the guy to death between the car and a brick wall. |

My understanding is that the final shots were delivered through the driver’s side window area, and that window was down. I think there are more meaningful comparisons we can do these days than shooting soda cans. That said, nothing I am saying here is meant to imply that 40 SW or 357 magnum are not effective. My point is that in the fairly extensive firsthand experience I have that 9mm does not appear to have any more issues penetrating the side panels or windshields of an automobile than any other handgun cartridge I have witnessed, and I have witnessed 9mm, 40SW, and 45 ACP. |

Shooting through glass is very hard on bullets and very bad for the aim. Shooting through windshield glass is even worse for both.
I'm not saying I would never shoot through a windshield with a handgun, but if I did, it would definitely be a total desperation move and I wouldn't expect good results either in terms of bullet performance after going through the glass, or in terms of being able to hit the target.

I keep a LC9 in my truck. If I were to carry it would be a S&W 9mm EZ or a lightweight Commander. The EZ has really impressed me so far. Might become my second favorite carry piece after the 642.
The EZ is a tad big for pocket carry. |

“Truck gun” is usually either a Remington 870 in 12 or 20 gauge, a rifle in .308 or 6.8 SPC, Glock 29 or a S&W M&P .40.
I live pretty rural so I roll out ready to zap just about anything that needs it wether it’s on 4 legs, wings or 2 legs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Dear Penthouse Forums,,,,, Seriously - a ""reality"" video from A&E? Who was he shooting at? Dave Hester? I'm sorry, but, if I have to point out how many kinds of wrong that is, I question how right it is to encourage that driver to be behind the wheel of a car. |

For defense in the truck, a 12ga shockwave. |
