Shooting Chrony Gamma Operation

Bought a Shooting Chrony (Gamma) chrongraph recently. Put a few rounds of .45 acp throught it the other day and it seems to be working properly, however I am having trouble using the various functions (saving and deleting strings, storing strings to permanent memory, etc). The instruction manual that comes with the chrony is nearly worthless. It is just about the most poorly written, convoluted piece of technical writing I have ever seen (even the instructions for things I've had that were made in China are better). To make matters worse, the controls and displays used to navigate through the various functions don't seem very intuituve. Figuring it out on my own by trial-and-error will take a lot of time and use up a lot of precious ammo.

Any of you guys that have figured out how to operate one of these things have any tips?
