Percussion 12 gauge size
What size do you guys cut your overshot/powder cardboard circles at? I know they say to go one bore larger when working with felt, but with cardboard?

For my 10 ga, I use a 10 ga nitro card over the powder, 10 ga wad and a 9 ga over-shot card with a small V slit cut into it.

I also should have mentioned that I buy the wads and cards from circlefly. Good people to deal with, helpful, knowledgeable.

I have an assortment of 11 ga and 12 ga cards and wads. I use whatever fits best in the hulls I'm using.
And, I also buy from Circle-Fly. I have a few items I've picked up from BPI, but Circle-Fly gets all of my business now. It's just a huge time saver to buy from them, rather than cut them myself. (I used to cut .44 caliber wads and cards. - I didn't enjoy it.)

I use a piece of 3/4 inside diameter copper pipe to cut my cardboard wads for my 12 gauge muzzle loader.
Same for my overshot cards, cut from a shoebox top. My over powder wads are cut from 2 layers of corrigated cardboard. Then lubed..

I use an original wad punch. Cereal boxes make good over shot cards.

I just haven't gotten around to getting a real wad punch yet, only owned the shotgun for a week...

Great ideas, especially the pipe to be used as a punch!
