From my reading the right or left twist makes no difference and is only tradition.
The Brits believed left-hand twist imparts slight leftward bullet drift that compensates for the tendency of right-handed shooters to pull the shot right when pulling the trigger, but not true. |

The recoil of the gun would go the wrong direction if the barrel was left twist-ed. Duh.

It would seem to me a left twist barrel would make more sense in the northern latitudes. JMHO
