Scope options for my M41B
I would love to go with an original Ajack but everyone I have seen wants at least $1500 and unfortunately that's just not in my budget for this project.
So I was looking for opinions on scope options. Apparently the Ocular lens Diameter can not be over 38mm. Not really sure about the Objective lens Diameter but i don't want anything to crazy. The scope I am looking at now would be the weaver classic v-series 2x10 with Ballistic-X reticle and if i don't end up with that I would like to stay around that price point(a little more a little less). |

keep in mind that the scope rails for M41s have 26.5mm rings which is halfway between the standard 1 inch or 30mm options so you have to use inserts to make a 1" tube work and I haven't been able to get any definite answers as to how stable your mount will be with that setup. I'm also considering scoping.
apparently nobody makes a reproduction of the Ajack scope so you'd probably have to go with the repro german mauser scopes like the ZF39 or ZF41 which use the 26.5mm rings and would mount with a repro M41 rail like the accumount.

I have actually even considered trying to lap the rings up to 30mm.

So here is the new additions to the old swede.
I did run into the problem of the bolt hitting the rear scope bell even though I specifically got this scope because it had a 38mm ocular lens like they said was needed. The only thing I could do to make it work was adjust the windage on the mount which worries me about being able to get the scope sighted in setup like this but I guess I will see this weekend how it works. |
