I have just got a Lee Loadmaster---it came as
part of a deal with other stuff.
I've set it up and it goes pretty well.
It does say tho' in the manual that it needs
a shield fitted if using Federal primers.
I have used my Dillon for years with Fed's
and no problem. Does this warning refer to
an earlier type of Federal primer?

The warning is for current Federal primers.

They use a slightly softer cup material, that can be more prone to being crushed.

That's why those of us with target tuned triggers (read light hits) prefer Federals.

To be safe, I'd order the shield or use a different brand of primer.

Good Luck...

Joe
