I'll take what is behind door no. 1. (becuase Sig don't know nothing about no 1911s.)

I have both of these guns and love them both. However, if you are looking for an all purpose gun, both range and carry, I would go with the Colt because it is all metal where the C3 has aluminium composite frame. I think the all metal holds up better in the long term if you shoot in great volume. The C3 is much lighter if you are looking for a carry gun.
One last note, I find that the Sig is more accurate than the Colt. Good luck with your decision making. You will happy with either one.

Without question, Colt. Reason being, in my experience, Sigs are about as reliable as a politician's promise.

Colt. I like SIG P series well enough, but think their 1911s are overpriced.

As much as I love the Colt, I would roll with the Sig.

From what I have seen in reviews the SIG 1911's are really nice and super reliable. I am sure Colt's are good as well, probably cant go wrong with either choice.

I love Colt too...But I voted SIG...My SIG 1911 has eaten 700 trouble free rounds of various hollow points and FMJ's. Not one malfunction.
My SA can't say the same...Colt 70 Series can't...and have't even tried JHP's down the barrel of my Gold Cup cause sadly, it doesn't even feed them. |

COLT, COLT and COLT. I'm sure the Sig is a fine gun, but against the Colt, it just doesn't have the same mystic.

I voted for the Sig because I have one and it's been completely flawless, and this is the old version of the C3.
The only time I can make it fail is when I put a ten round magazine in it. Other than that no problems. Don't know anything about the Colt, thus I can't vote for it. |

Given those two choices only, I would go with the Colt.

It's a toss up for me. I own a few Colt 1911's and all are great except one of the Officers I have. I also own the C3 and love it. It has run flawless and is as accurate as any 1911 I have shot. I love Sigs and have lost a lot of faith in Colt , just due to personal experience. I would choose the C3CT over the commander Colt.

The Colt, only because I already have a C3 Plus(same gun minus the laser grips). It's a great 1911 by the way. Sig makes a great 1911 for the money. It does have a bit more felt recoil since it has a aluminum frame.

I voted SIG. From what I've seen/shot, their 1911s are very good guns (excluding the 1st ones that they released). My shooting buddy has 4 including the one in question and all run great.
The only advantage I'd give the Colt is resale value---Colts due hold value well.
