Midway WWII Era M1 Carbines for sale-with history

Note: I've always been happy with the products and service I've received from Midway USA but this is just one guy's opinion. Take it for what it's worth.

They (Midway USA) have announced they have a shipment of M1 carbines coming in that were manufactured in the 1942-1945 time period. No prices have been announced as yet.

Part of the story Midway is providing:
Quote:
Per our supplier, these guns are believed to have come directly from use in the European theatre of WWII, eventually making their way to the Italian Armed forces. From there they went to the Carabinieri – the Italian National Police - and have been in storage since the early 1950s.

I’m not sure if I’m buying the marketing story, but I sure wish I bought a dozen of these 30 years ago when they were just milsurps.

carbines

Always wanted an M1 carbine. Got to shoot them quite a bit for a month, several times a week, when on a detail to the academy. The carbine was the rifled shoulder arm for the Bureau of Prisons up until the late 1980's. Later, when the CMP got a quantity in, the $400 or so bucks they needed for one had to go to something else at the time. Still later, Auto Ordnance offered a supposedly high quality repro, but even with a LE discount, the price seemed high.

I likely won't have a carbine now, but it's still on the list!

Prices seem a tad on the high side. Think I'm going to pass on these.

30 or so years ago if I had gotten one cheap, I would have gone for it. These days I can't see myself adding one more round to my collection to reload for. I'd just as soon get a .300 blackout AR15 upper.
