Remington Rifle Stocks - 7400 & 7600

Does anyone know if a Remington 7400 rifle stock and 7600 rifle stock are interchangeable?
Thanks, DSM

Remington Rifle Stocks - 7400 & 7600

Toni, Appreciate your reply. One other question ... can the trigger pull of a synthetic stock be shortened similar to what can be done with a wooden stock? Thanks, Dave

I depends on how much material was given before the pad. Take the pad off and look to see when it starts being hollow. If they gave you a lot of material to work with go for it, but remember to not cut it too close or you will weaken it significantly.

7600-7400 stocks

Most synthetic stocks are hollow- this creates problems with shortening.

LOP

It's called "length of pull" - not trigger pull.

Not sure about your specific stock but I recently changed the LOP on a Beretta shotgun (synthetic stock) by changing the space between the stock and the recoil pad.

In my case, the shotgun came with a 1" spacer and I replaced it with a 1/2" spacer.

This is a 2006 thread. Let's let it die a peaceful death, shall we?
