Good Results With New AR47

I purchased a complete 7.62x39 upper from Red River Guns at a gun show a couple of weeks ago. So far, after 200 rounds, function has been 100% using ASC 30 round magazines and Russian bulk surplus ammo that was purchased in the 90s.

I'm very satisfied so far.

Right around 1 1/2 inches at 50 yards using the BUIS sights. After I decide on a scope and mounting setup for it I'll invest in some better ammunition and see how it does at 100 yards.

For the OP... try some of the Hornady 123gr SST steel case ammo... hands down some of the most accurate from my MAK 90.

Groups half the size of typical ComBloc ammo.

It cost much more, but certainly is inspiring.

Thanks for the response. I put an old cheap NCstar scope on for kicks and wasn't expecting much but, with the same old surplus ammo, was grouping 1 1/2 inches at 100. Seems this upper has plenty of accuracy. I'll play with different ammo to decide what to use next hunting season

Congrats on the new accuracy you found, swap to some Hornady or Winchester brass case ammo and it should get better. I have an AR with X39 upper I built and have been interested in the Hornady ammo. I like to use the Winchester brass to reload and get about 1" at 100yrds. I love the ASC mags, perfect feed and function so far.
