PPS M2 hands down. I just love it. Good grip, good trigger, nice features, more shootable than the competition IMO.

I still have my 20 year old Sig P239 but it has pretty much been in hiatus ever since I picked up my S&W Shield last year. It is not as accurate as the Sig but it is far more compact while being very easy to shoot , totally reliable and easy to carry. I liked it so much I even picked up a 45 Shield a few months later.

Yeah - this. No one said it had to be a compact concealed carry gun!

But I wouldn't get a new one - I'd definitely look for an original.

I had been fortunate enough to shoot almost all the single stack poly 9mms over the past year. I have replaced my LC9 with a S&W shield and feel that it is a great compact semi.

Through what circumstances? I'd say that's a wonderful place to be in as when I first bought a pistol (NY) there was no where to try anything before I bought, I had to go on research alone.

Makarov.

It IS a single stack 9mm pistol, and nowhere in the OP did it state 9x19, 9x21, 9x18, 9x17, etc. so it DOES count. I know that just saying "9mm" in American almost always refers to 9x19mm Parabellum, but IMHO it is the same as calling every .30 caliber rifle round out there "7.62" which is also done frequently. It needs to stop.

So, does OP mean 9x19mm Parabellum? How are we to tell? Therefore, Makarov.
