Slugs for a Winchester 20 GA Model 1300
I have heard that some types of slugs will harm a gun with no slug barrel,I don't have a slug barrel, what kind of slugs would be safe to use with a regular standard shotgun barrel.

rifled slugs. IE, NOT sabot slugs which are for rifled slug-only barrels. just make sure you dont have tighter than mod choke on it.

No commercially available slug now made will harm any modern barrel up to full choke and maybe beyond. Tight chokes usually do not work well with slugs.
Sabot slugs are for rifled barrels. Either the rifled slugs or the Brennekes will work in a smoothbore. Only range testing will determine which one will group best in YOUR barrel. FWIW, I've Brenneked a few deer with the 20 gauge Rottweil slug. Kick is emphatic, but downrange results were short bloodtrails and quick, humane kills. |

Try open chokes like Cylinder, Skeet and Improved Cylinder.
I've seen impressive groups from tight choke, but only with one slug. |
