A question about S&W Victory 38 special cylinder stops

I have a surplus Smith and Wesson .38 Special WW2 revolver missing a cylinder stop spring. I ordered one, but it is way too short to work. Could I be missing something else between the cylinder stop screw and the cylinder stop?

Does anyone know where I can find a good schematic or close-up photo that shows the cylinder stop action details?
