Coastal Suppressors

Does anyone out there have any experience with Coastal suppressors? I didn't know anyting about them until yesterday, but they seem like a good deal for the money. I am looking to get a suppressor for a SBR .40 AR, and I actually like the girth of bigger cans like the Coastal suppressors for the MAC. They look better coming out of the hand guards than skinny cans. They sure make the Evolution .40 seem like a lot of cash for a can in comparison. Thanks for the advice...

Nick

Coastal

I have a 9mm for the M11/9. Heavy, not quite as quiet as others but the weight is perfect for a bullet hose.
Not the same quality as SWR, Gemtech or AAC.
I have not seen one in 40SW - you may have more luck going with a 9mm or 45ACP.

Dude, get a Gemtech. They work, and work well!

We ordered five of them for our Department. At our last qual, I shot side by side with a guy with a suppressed MP5. I had my AR.

Mine went boom. His farted repeatedly.

I wholeheartedly recommend Gemtech!

Thanks, powderman, I have a couple Gemtechs already. I just got tired of waiting for the Blackside .40 to materialize and considered going a different direction. I have since decided to go with a 9mm AR platform instead of .40 and will be ordering a Trinity ASAP

Don't sell the Coastal short...

I have one for my Mac10, and it's surprisingly effective. I really hadn't paid that much attention until an outside shoot recently that a friend brought some suppressors to. He had an *UBER* quiet - I'm talking Elmer Fudd VEEWWYY, VEEWWWY KWIET - 9mm from SWR(?)

All of us were able to comfortably tolerate the Mac10 mag dump w/ suppressor with no trouble at all. Of course, the Mac10 is an open bolt, admittedly somewhat loud on it's own gun, but the Coastal does a great job taming it.

You're correct that it's a great buy for the money. As to whether or not it's the industry standard, or a leader in the field, I'll leave that to others to comment on. Mine works quite well.

YMMV
