Iver Johnson Help!
OK, I've got a good one for the gunsmiths out there. I have a .38 S%W Iver Johnson Break-Top that is in need of a firing pin "bushing". Have new (?) bushing but it looks like the threads in the reciever are a bit burred. My question: Whats the thread count & pitch on these little devils? It looks like the thread count is 44 but I'm having a hard time verifying that. All help is greatly appreciated!!

Get a thread pitch gauge, then there's no guessing.

the best/easiest way to determine the pitch is with a pitch guage.

Thanks guys. I have both Standard & Metric thread gauges but I couldn't verify the count. I'll try a 9/32-44 tap & see what arises. Thanks again.

be careful with that tap. In the world of firearms, they use some non standard threads. check with someplace like brownells to see if they carry an industry specific pitch guage
