American Arms .44-40

Back in the late 1980's or early '90's I purchased an American Arms SAA in .44-40 caliber. ("Regulator"). Shot it a little bit, then just kinda forgot about it. I later purchased a Navy Arms iron-framed Henry in the same caliber, and have been thinking about doing CAS with the two of them.

I know the revolver is made in Italy, but don't know which company made it. Does anyone know if it was Uberti, or Pietta, or who else might have made it? And will it hold up to CAS if I keep the loads mild? Usually I shoot BP, but sometimes may want to go with smokeless.
