Sling issue

I'm running a canvas/military style sling on my sks. i just put the tapco replacement stock on the rifle and have an issue. Perhaps someone has some info on it. With the rifle hanging accross my chest in a ready position, as I shoulder it, the standard sling/swivel of the stock ends up in my shoulder. There appears to be no way to swing it out of my way and avoid the pinch point. Thoughts? Do I need to go to a totally different sling or am I using it wrong?
