I see where some have recommended the heavy barrel for more accuracy. I truly hope this helps this rifle. I have not shot one with the new heavier barrel so I can't speak for it's accuracy. But I can speak, and so can many others, for lack of accuracy in the past. Just about any AR will run circles around any Mini-14 for accuracy from my experiences. The pros to the Mini-14 is it is rugged, feeds reliably,and puts a lot of lead in the air. I just can't stand the accuracy. I swore off Mini-14s years ago. I do own a Mini-30, not sure why. I know for a long time, years ago here in Texas, the highway patrol and game wardens all had Mini-14s in their vehicles. I guess Ruger must have given them a good deal.
