Stevens 16 ga single shot

Is that crack going to make the gun dangerous to shoot?

He is asking $80, but that seems high considering the condition. I was thinking a good condition single shot was worth maybe 80-120.

Perhaps, not in it's self but what else might be going on? Yes, he is asking too much and if it were mine, I'd give it the "Float-Test", in the Mississippi. ......

Pass and;
Be Safe !!!

I have a couple Stevens 16 ga., both in very good used condition that cost me about 75$. Eighty isn't a horrible price, but you could easily find them in better condition for the same price.

Float test would be in order. That frame is cast iron. It took years, but that is a defect in the casting which has separated and is now starting to fork. It will eventually crack open. Will it be in your lifetime? Who knows, but I would never shoot it. GW

I don't think that old of a Stevens was available for smokeless powder, either, and may be why the frame is cracked. It's not worth much, just what Numrich will give you for the parts.
