I hope that's not true... I have a gold D-Eagle 50AE. Maybe I should get rid of it to increase my life span

That would be a garishly embellished Star DK-the gun the Colt and SIG .380s were copied after.

I need to somehow build in a qualifier for collectors vs. cartel types. My intent was not to include collectors of tiger striped AE's or red PS90's...

Somebody made a red tiger striped one to emulate a video game. It's obnoxious, but pretty cool. There is a cool white one out there too. Looks like it should belong to a storm trooper.

I could see a white PS90 being pretty cool looking. I used to have one in the od green. I miss it. I usually don't get rid of guns but had to make a trade

I don't care how intricate the engraving is or if it's considered a masterpiece...that pistol is just plain nasty!!....I'd sandblast that sucker in a heartbeat, re-blue it and stick the original walnut grips on it. Then it would be the masterpiece it is.

Gaddafi's Every Day Carry

Here is the meaning in Arabic

The sentence under the barrel means that the "Sun will never set for the ruler" The term used in the sentence is "Fateh." Fateh was Gaddafi's nick name.

If you look closely at the golden gun you will also notice more writings in Arabic. This one is on the slide on the barrel end. Which reads the "esteemed colones" with 32 in the middle. There is Made in Belgium also on the slide.

Well, now we know that the Man with the Golden Gun is dead.

My best wishes to the People of the Democratic Republic of Libya.

I think they may have killed Gaddafi with his own gold plated gun. It looks pretty similar to the High Power Renaissance:

If I were a dictator or leader with high authority, or maybe even a president depending on the public view of open carry, I would have two guns.

If I were American, it'd definitely be an engraved 1911 for show. Probably with a good amount of gold. Then, like Patton, I'd have a "killing gun." Probably a high capacity semi like a CZ 75. Screw Glocks. Probably be concealed.

I wonder... does gold show holster wear pretty quickly?

PS: Note the finger on the trigger and the other finger on/in the barrel...

Damn, if only Gaddafi had taken the time to post a picture of that next to some gaudy pocket knife and his cell phone, then we could really critique him.

LOL! That's the funniest thing I've read in a long time!

As long as it matches your teeth, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

(If you have a gold Deagle, you have to be able to take a little ribbing - hey, I've got genuine pearl grips on a brightly polished 1911 - maybe I should get chrome teeth to match!)

They have a photo of the new owner waving that gun on MSN next to a kid with a yankee's ball cap.
My guess is the pictured new owner of the golden gun won't live very long either. Revenge killings the norm in Arabic countries and Gaddafi's friends now have a photo of there first 2 targets.

It is probably a lot more than 'gold colored' like a DE.

It is probably inlaid with actual gold.

Reading that hurt... I don't know if those inaccuracies are only unacceptable to gun experts or whether it's legitimately bad reporting. Either way, I can't stand it.
